Where the works take shape
The human figure, matter, light: how I work.

“Contrast is the visual metaphor of human inner tension.”
01
The process
My works are born from what I have lived. I start from an intuition, from the instinct to shape. Then I let it settle: intuition and logic work together and add layers of meaning, like the layers of emotions. A work is finished when form and message are in balance and everything that needed to be said has come out.
In raw material I do not see trapped works: I see possibilities, and I decide the form.
02
The figure
The beating heart of these creations is the human being, because it is the figure we can identify with most quickly: an expression, a movement raises questions. The figures have reflective metal eyes, mirrors toward the viewer, to go deeper. It is fascinating how a cold, artificial material can instead give life.
The human figure merges with geometric symbols, adding a symbolic meaning and reaching the most hidden part, the unconscious. Every symbol is designed to evoke something deep and bring out a call to the mystery of our existence.

Techniques and materials
Today I combine direct sculpture and assemblage, using wood, stone, concrete, metal and resins.
I build structures in iron or wood and polystyrene, shape clay and plasticine for models, make silicone rubber and plaster casts, and then arrive at the material that can undergo further work.

Patinas, contrast and light
Sometimes I feel like an alchemist: when a material is patinated and colored, with metal leaf, paints and resins, it is truly transformed.
Warm and cold, geometric and organic: these contrasts are the logical and intuitive expression of what I want to say, and they accompany the viewer along the way. They are essential, because without them nothing would exist: without darkness there would be no light.
That is why I also add luminous elements that amplify the message and give it even more expressive power.
Have an idea in mind?
Let’s start by listening: tell me what you want to say, and I will look for the form.
