Psycho
The work PSYCHO is the embodiment of the archetype of Contemporary Fragility. It is a visual meditation on theinsecurity and dissolution of the worldview of modern man.
This sculpture is born from the will to contrast an icon. Taking as a model the face of Michelangelo’s David – a universal symbol of confidence, strength and perfection – I offer an opposite vision. Through deformation, the face twists in on itself until it compresses, reflecting the state of uncertainty and the loss of identity of today’s man.
Every element is a symbol. The spiral deformation chosen is not random: it represents the fragility and the continuous change of the human psyche. The expression, made indefinite and unrecognizable, symbolizes the lack of a clear worldview. I experiment with the demolition of the perfect form to express the emotional distress of a compressed consciousness in constant redefinition.
Through this dialogue between matter and meaning, PSYCHO offers itself as a mirror: not an answer, but an invitation to feel.
How defined is your identity, and how much does it twist in the face of the pressure and insecurity of the modern world?
